"When The Routine Bites Hard"

Sticky red and green cream soup coats my nose and throat.

I've been sick for way too long. On most of my weekends for well over a month I've been laying in bed or on the couch with a temperature that fought me to stay over 101 degrees.

It's affected all my work. Slowed down the magazine to a crawl. Caused me to miss out on an important interview. I think I even made one of our writers sick. (Sorry Erin!)

Therefore this non-issue really HAS been a non-issue. Every time I tried to get in front of the computer to write something or do some code, my sweltering brain told me, "Nah-uh-uh. You are going back to bed." As luck would have it, despite how it felt, my brain did not actually catch on fire.

So think of this non-issue as these non-issues tend to be; a chance for us to catch up...even though during this particular month, I wasn't able to really catch up as well as I would have liked. In fact I think this may be the only original content for it I've included so far.

Hey, we've been putting this thing out for almost 12 years. I think we're allowed to slip a little bit here and there. And with the wonders of the internet, it's nice that we can always go back and fix what we (or actually I in this case) screwed up or didn't get right the first time.

If only we could do the same with anything else in our lives.
